After a three-year hiatus, the Grate Grown-Up Spelling Bee is returning for its 11th year.

Sponsored by Next Step Literacy, the event features teams of three adults in costume competing in a traditional spelling bee.

There are prizes awarded for Best Costume, Most Team Spirit, and of course, Best Spellers.

The event also features a silent auction, a Play-at-the-Table Round, and a 50 / 50 draw.

Guests will enjoy a prime rib dinner.

This year, two-time winner of the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour, Terry Fallis, will be the Honorary Chair.

All funds raised will support free one-to-one adult tutoring at Next Step in Allison.

Next Step Literacy offers free one-to-one and small group tutoring to adults in reading, writing, and math to help increase employability and independence.

They create customized training plans to help learners progress toward their goals at their own pace in a confidential and supportive environment.

The Grate Grown-Up Spelling Bee will take place at the Club at Bond Head on Saturday, April 15.
