Gymnasts excel at recent championships

The 2016 Trampoline and Tumbling Ontario Championships were recently hosted by Vertical Zone in Barrie. All Alliston Gymnastics Club T & T athletes recently qualified and competed at these championships. The scores were extremely close in almost every age-split. Many of our T & T athletes showed their best routines/passes of the year at championships.
Championship highlights included a bronze medal for both Rhys Turai and Reilly Giffen.
T & T coach, Marty Shiffman was very impressed with everyone’s effort. Here is a summary of the results.

Trampoline Results

In level 1, 9-10 Trampoline both Keira Christos and Raphaelle Sylvain advanced to the finals and finished 7th and 8th respectively.
In level 1, 11-12 Trampoline Kaitlyn Bos advanced to the finals and finished in 7th place. Bryn Hazell finished in 9th place while Abigaelle Sylvain finished the qualifying round in 15th.
In level 1, 13-14 Trampoline Chelsea Marche found herself 3rd in a four-way tie for 8th and finished in 10th. Rhiannon Corbin finished in 17th.
In level 1, 13-over Trampoline Sabina Czachor finished 14th.
In level 2, 15 Trampolin Kenna Iddison finished in 12th place while Abby Foerster finished 21st.

Tumbling Results

In level 1, 9-10 Tumbling Mairin Duffy finished in 9th.
In level 1, 11-12 Tumbling Meg Turai entered the finals round in 3rd, and finished in 5th.
Makenna Mason finished in 17th.
In Level 1, 13-over Tumbling Makenna Hare finished the qualifying round in 20th.
In level 2, 15-over Tumbling Rhys Turai made the finals and finished in  3rd.
In level 3, 14-under Tumbling Reilly Giffen qualified for finals in 2nd, and finished in 3rd in the finals.

Artistic Results

The 2015-16 Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Level 6-10 Championships were recently held at the International Centre in Mississauga. The Alliston Gymnastics Club had 12 gymnasts qualify and compete at this year’s championships. All 12 gymnasts either improved and/or held their provincial ranking.
Championship highlights included Abby Connolly’s All Around Silver Medal, Natalie Noguiera’s All Around Bronze Medal, Aubree Kuhnen’s 1st place finish on vault, and Juliana Abas’s 1st place finish on floor.
In the individual event finals, Juliana also earned a 1st place on floor while Camryn Gibson placed 3 rd on vault.
Juliana also earned a spot to represent Team Ontario at Eastern Canadian Championships with an All Around 4 th place finish

Level 6 Age 9

Abby Connolly – 2nd All Around – 5th  Vault, 3rd Bars, 3rd Beam and 5th Floor.
Natalie Nogueira – 3rd All Around – 7th Vault, 8th Bars, 2nd Beam and 8th Floor.

Level 6 Age 11

Aubree Kuhnen – 4th All Around – 1st  Vault, 10th Bars, 12th Beam and 6th Floor .

Level 6 Age 12

Makenna Gooding – 12 th All Around – 9th Vault, 10th Bars, 13th Beam and 12th Floor.

Sarah Medcalf – 15th All Around – 11th Vault, 14th Bars, 14th Beam and 6th Floor.

Level 6 Age 13

Kendra Mainprize – 8th All Around – 12th Vault, 5th Bars, 7th Beam and 7th Floor.

Level 6 Age 16+

Julia Davey – 12th All Around – 12th Vault, 17th Bars, 5th Beam and 6th Floor.

Level 7 Age 14/15

Julia Bullied – 16th All Around – 11th Vault, 12th Bars, 10th Beam and 13th Floor.

Level 7 Age 13

Amanda Baker – 10th All Around – 9th Vault, 9th Bars, 8th Beam and 8th Floor.

Level 8 Age 12/13

Jocelyn Ruhl – 23rd All Around – 17th Vault, 13th Bars, 22nd Beam and 9th Floor.

Level 8 Age 14/15

Camryn Gibson – 6th All Around – 4th Vault, 7th Bars, 12th Beam and 8th Floor. Event Finals – 3rd on Vault.

Level 9 Age 13/14

Juliana Abas – 4th All Around – 6th Vault, 5th Bars, 6th Beam and 1st Floor. Event Finals – 1st on Floor.
