The Town of New Tecumseth is reviewing its Building By-law and seeking public input to determine its future direction, including updates to building permit fees.
The Town will hold a public meeting to share the proposed changes to the by-law and to receive input from local residents.
New Tecumseth Council is proposing updates to the by-law, which may include:
· Adding or simplifying permit fees
· Updating cost guidelines
· General housekeeping improvements
Anyone can take part in the public meeting and/or make a written or verbal presentation either in support or opposition to the proposed By-law amendment.
Your comments will become part of the public record.
Registration to attend the meeting is not required, but residents are encouraged to sign up in advance using the online form available at http://newtecumseth.ca/en/town-hall/speaking-before-council.aspx.
If you wish to make a written submission regarding the proposed By-law amendment, you must make a written request to the Town Clerk at Town Hall or via email at clerk@newtecumseth.ca.
Additional information related to the proposed Building By-law Amendment, including current and proposed fees and the justification for the changes, is available for inspection Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., at the Building Department, by telephone at 705-435-3900, or by email at building@newtecumseth.ca.
The public meeting will take place on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the council chambers at 24 Tupper Street West, Alliston.
The meeting will be livestreamed through the Town of New Tecumseth’s YouTube channel.
