The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has partnered with GetaKit to offer free, discreet sexually transmitted and blood-borne infection testing at your local lab and HIV self-testing kits delivered to your home.

GetaKit is available to anyone in Simcoe Muskoka who is 17 years of age or older. HIV testing is for those 18 and over.

GetaKit offers free and discreet testing for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Hepatitis C, and HIV.

STI and HIV testing is available by printing the online lab requisition and taking it to the lab of your choice. Your results will show up online in three to seven days.

HIV self-testing kits are available for individuals at risk for HIV, and they are delivered to your home.

Test results are available within minutes of testing.

Swabs can be sent to your home address or picked up at the Barrie Clinic location at 80 Bradford St., Unit #403, Barrie.

GetaKit is a study from the University of Ottawa in partnership with local public health units in Ontario. It offers free lab-based testing for sexually transmitted infections and HIV.

Swab instructions are available on the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit website.
