The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) has updated its Certificate of Inspection to include a QR code that can be scanned to access the most recent inspection results.

Each year, SMDHU health inspectors complete more than 6,100 inspections at food premises, licensed child care centres, recreational water facilities, recreational camps, and personal service settings to ensure that public health requirements are being met.

Upon completion of an inspection, the business or facility operator will receive a certificate of inspection sign to post on-site. Businesses receive a new sign following the next inspection.

The updated Certificate of Inspection will include the QR code that can be scanned to provide recent inspection results

As inspections are completed, a new Certificate of Inspection will be posted. During the transition period, both signs will be visible in the community until all of the year’s inspections are completed at the end of 2024.
