May 5, 2022   ·   0 Comments

Several hundred people turned out for a walk on the trails in support of Matthews House Hospice on Sunday, May 1.

The Hike for Hospice took place at the Adjala-Tosorontio Municipal grounds with a route planned through the grounds.

After a pre-walk warm-up, the walkers followed a planned path along the grounds.

The walk featured a second location this year with an event held at the Innisfil Rotary Trail at the Innisfil Recreational Complex.

This was the 12th annual walk in support of the Hospice.

Some people came out and walked as individuals, while other formed teams to raise funds and walk together. Several corporate sponsors stepped up to help out.

The Hospice was hoping to raise around $100,000 through the walk this year.

The walk also featured a barbecue, vendors on site, and live music.

Matthews House Hospice offers caring, compassionate support to individuals, caregivers, and loved ones facing a life-limiting illness or grieving a loss. It also offers mental health support to members of the community.
