Things got a bit scary at an Angus elementary school this past week.
Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a bomb threat at Angus Morrison Elementary School in Angus, Essa Township on Friday, Mar. 3.
The bomb threat resulted in numerous road closures and the evacuation of all staff and students from the school.
The OPP searched the school and property. They did not locate any explosives during the search.
The school has since been reopened, and regular school programming has commenced.
“The safety of our communities remains our top priority and we would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding in this matter,” the OPP said in a recent statement. “We would also like to thank our local media partners for their assistance.”
The Nottawasaga OPP continues to investigate the incident.
