As part of its historic $15 billion Canadian Electric Vehicle Value Chain initiative announced in April 2024, Honda of Canada Mfg. unveiled plans to build two new facilities in Alliston for assembling electric vehicles and their batteries.

Site preparation work has begun at Honda’s location on Industrial Parkway in Alliston.

Honda has said it acknowledges the potential disruptions from this construction and has taken steps to minimize the local impact.

Honda thanks the community for their patience and understanding as it embarks on this exciting next step in its almost 40-year journey in Alliston.

Site preparation involves a series of tasks carried out before the building of new plant structures can begin. The work includes but is not limited to removing vegetation and a raised bank of land, as well as grading and levelling the area where the new buildings will be constructed.

Teams have installed industrial fencing around the area to ensure the safety of the public, construction personnel, and Honda associates.

Honda respectfully asks for the community’s cooperation and patience while crews complete this stage of the construction project as efficiently as possible. Honda looks forward to collaborating with residents to ensure the construction process goes smoothly.

Further updates will be provided regularly to ensure residents and members of the business community are informed of the project’s progress.
