The annual Alliston & District Humane Society Woof Walk is coming up fast. The fundraiser is in support of the shelter and the animals it cares for.
The Woof Walk will be held at the Humane Society’s property near Everett. Visitors can tour the property and get an inside look at the shelter.
There are two trails that will be used for the walk. A 1-kilometre trail provides an easy path through the grounds. A 3-kilometre trail winds its way around the property and the pond.
It should be noted that tails have uneven terrain so you should bring proper walking shoes.
Strollers and wagons for children are welcome but may be difficult to manage on the longer train, especially if the wheels are not designed to handle uneven ground.
During the event, there will be a free barbecue, dog games, shelter tours, a vendor’s market, and door prizes.
To participate, you do not have to walk a dog. If you bring your dog, the dog must be leashed and under control. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
The walk will take place rain or shine.
Everyone is encouraged to fundraise by collecting donations using the downloadable pledge form or by collecting online.
The Humane Society takes in many animals that have been abandoned or surrendered. Many of the animals require medical care.
It relies on donations to fund its operations.
The Woof Walk will take place on Saturday, June 8, at the Alliston & District Humane Society Shelter, located at 5545 Concession Rd. 4, Everett.
The gets underway at 11:00 a.m.
