Impaired driving charges laid in New Tecumseth after three hospitalized from collision

Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police have charged one individual with impaired driving following a single-vehicle collision in New Tecumseth.

At approximately 2 a.m., on Dec. 14, police responded to a single-vehicle collision on the 14th Line of New Tecumseth.

Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that had left the road and overturned in a steep ditch.

Three occupants were assisted from the wreckage by emergency services.

Two passengers sustained significant injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment. They were later discharged.

During the investigation, officers determined that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

The driver was arrested and transported to a local hospital as a precaution and later discharged with minor injuries.

As a result, the driver, a resident of New Tecumseth, has been charged with:

· Operation causing bodily harm

· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on Jan. 15, 2026. The accused’s driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
