It’s a Rurban Christmas in Alliston

The Alliston Business Improvement Association (ABIA) hosted its annual ‘Rurban Christmas’ in downtown Alliston Saturday. The event featured pictures with Santa, free hot chocolate and apple cider, decoration making and of course a tree lighting. Festive music, provided by the Sugartones, an all-female barbershop style choir, had both the young and the young at heart dancing in the street at Mill and Victoria. Local shops remained open so shoppers could take advantage of festive sales, while strolling along the main street, closed to traffic for the Rotary Christmas Parade which took place following the Rurban Christmas event. This free community event was made possible through the generosity of the Alliston downtown business core. The Tottenham Santa Claus Parade, hosted by the Beeton–Tottenham Business Improvement Association (BTBIA), takes place this Saturday, Nov. 26, starting at 3 p.m., followed by the Festival of Lights.
