The 18th annual Kevin Lord Memorial Spring Classic Golf Tournament took place on Saturday, May 25, at Bear Creek Golf Club.
This year, 132 golfers all started out in a light rain that lasted for four holes before clearing up and turning into a good afternoon for golf.
“We know everyone was really looking forward to this year’s tournament and we were so happy that the weather cleared up,” said tournament organizer Al Lord. “It was great to be able to have our banquet buffet dinner again after golfing, which we had not been able to have the last three years due to Covid. It was really nice to see everyone reunite again and socialize with old and new friends, whose kind support helps us to keep our son Kevin’s memory alive.
Lord added, “Thank you again to everyone who participated and also to our sponsors and donors for their support in making this year’s tournament another great success. A special thank you also to Bear Creek Golf Club and all their staff, as always, for their hospitality and organization in helping again with this year’s tournament.”
Congratulations to all the tournament prize winners:
With a very low score of 56 (-14), the winning team was made up of Matt Vienneau, Tyler Smokler, Chad MacDonald, and Lawrence Vienneau.
A special honourable mention to the ladies’ team of Andrea Davidson, Kat McCauge, Jody Allen, and Bonnie Veenstra, who shot an amazing low score of 60 (-10).
Congratulations also to Marv Chantler who was the winner of the draw for the Maple Leaf Doug Gilmour #93 signed jersey.
Next year’s tournament will be back again at Bear Creek Golf Club on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
