The Knights of Columbus held their 56th annual Free Throw District Championships at Holy Family School in Alliston on Saturday, Feb. 14.
Competitors previously won free-throw competitions at the local level to qualify for the championship.
The qualifier in Alliston was held on Jan. 24, with local elementary and high school students competing to see who could make the most hoops. The winners moved on to the District Championship to compete against kids from Orangeville and Bolton.
At the District Championships, 10 players won their age-group competitions.
Michael Murad, 17, from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School in Tottenham, scored the highest free-throw percentage in the competition. He sank 21 of 25 free throws from the line for an 84 per cent success rate.
Isaiah Manuel, of St. Thomas Aquinas, won his division, shooting 20 for 25.

The District Championship winners will advance to the Regional Finals to be held at St. Basil the Great Catholic High School in Toronto on March 28.
