Loretto man wins big with instant crossword

A relatively new hobby has paid off big time for a Loretto man.
Imre Jr. Szilvasi is celebrating after winning a $100,000 top prize with an INSTANT CROSSWORD TRIPLER scratch ticket.
Imre said he has been playing INSTANT tickets for two years, and the CROSSWORD TRIPLER is his favourite game.
“I went the store to buy my tickets and played it in the car,” Imre said. “I noticed I had all the words and thought I won $20 at first. I went back in the store to check my ticket and realized I won $100,000. Other people in the store were hugging me and cheering for me.”
Imre, who just turned 81, said when he told his wife about the big win, she was so excited she almost fell over.
“She had to hold onto the wall,” he laughed. “I feel like I will enjoy life a lot more. We will take a trip to Europe and put the rest in our savings.”
Imre purchased his winning ticket at the Circle K on Young Street in Alliston.
