A Loretto resident is celebrating a big LOTTARIO jackpot.

Jeffrey McInnis won $709,022.30 in the Aug. 17, LOTTARIO draw.

A father and grandfather, Jeffrey has been an occasional lottery player with OLG for around 30 years.

He enjoys playing LOTTARIO and LOTTO MAX and this is his first big win.

“I was at the gas station when I decided to go inside to grab a coffee and check my tickets,” Jeffrey recalled, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I went over to the ticket checker, scanned my ticket, and saw the ‘Big Winner’ message on the screen. I thought to myself, ‘That can’t be right!’ I checked a few other tickets before re-scanning the first one. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing!”

He shared the good news with his wife and said, “she didn’t’ believe me at first. I had to show her the winning numbers of the OLG app. It was a funny moment we shared.”

With his windfall, Jeffrey said he plans to pay off his mortgage and complete some home renovations.

Jeffrey purchased his winning ticket at the Foodland in Beeton.
