Male arrested in attempted abduction

On Friday, June 3, at approximately 6 a.m., members of Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an attempted abduction in Riverdale Park, Alliston.
An adult female was walking a trail along the park when an unknown male attempted to abduct her. An altercation occurred and the female made good her escape, reporting the incident to police.
OPP patrolled the area and located the now accused, Lawrence Stephenson, 23, of age of no fixed address.
The accused has been charged with Forcible Confinement and Assault.
Police are requesting assistance from the public with this investigation.
