The Maple Lane sewage pumping station in Alliston will receive upgrades to ensure long-term viability and operations.

Located at 3 Maple Lane, the station is used to convey wastewater collected from the northwest side of the community of Alliston to the Alliston Wastewater Treatment Plant. The station functions as an important asset to the Town’s wastewater infrastructure and is required to service residents of the community.

The existing pump station was constructed in 1971 and was last upgraded in 1997. In 2019, the Town conducted a comprehensive condition assessment of the station and identified areas requiring upgrades.

This includes the installation of a new standby generator, repairing or replacing its power distribution and heating/ventilation equipment, and improvements to the station’s process and pumping equipment.

The Town has retained EXP Services Limited to complete a detailed engineering design for the rehabilitation of the station. The scope of work for this project includes a study to determine the optimal rehabilitation solutions, preparation of the detailed design and tender administration services.

The project began in the spring of 2023, and the design phase is anticipated to be complete by spring 2024. As a part of this work, EXP will complete a field survey of the sewage station property and the surrounding roadways, a geotechnical survey, a subsurface utility exploration, and environmental surveys.

Construction is planned for the summer of 2024, pending utility conflicts, agency approvals, and budget availability.
