Matthews House Hospice in Alliston is inviting the South Simcoe community to come together for its 15th annual Giving Hearts Gala.
This year’s theme is “An Enchanted Evening.”
This signature fundraising event promises an evening of exceptional food, entertainment and celebration – all in support of compassionate care close to home.
The Giving Hearts Gala has become one of the Matthews House Hospice Foundation’s three signature fundraising events alongside Hike for Hospice and the Annual Golf Tournament.
Over the years, the gala has raised more than $3.4 million to support Matthews House Hospice programs and services.
Last year’s Gala was a tremendous success, demonstrating the remarkable generosity of the community and the importance of coming together to sustain hospice care.
This year, Matthews House is once again asking residents, businesses, and community partners to help carry that momentum forward.
Matthews House Hospice must raise more than $2 million every year through fundraising and community generosity to continue to provide its full range of services.
Those services extend far beyond residential hospice care and include hospice-at-home support, grief and bereavement counselling, caregiver support, Memory Care and Dementia Day programming, and more than 55 community programs.
An Enchanted Evening offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a memorable night while making a meaningful investment in the future of care in South Simcoe.
The evening will feature a four-course dinner, live entertainment, dancing, and a live band. There will also be exciting live and silent auctions.
Guests can also take part in the Enchanted Keys and Fairy Bags, offering additional opportunities to have fun, win prizes, and raise funds.
Included in the prizes are the ultimate Maple Leafs VIP experience, including tickets, dinner, hotel accommodations, and a ride on the Zamboni.
There is also a prize for exclusive Buffalo Bills tickets with dining and parking included, exquisite Muskoka Teak furniture worth over $10,000, as well as jewellery and gems.
Hospice care exists because a community chooses to make sure it will be there when people need it. If we all waited until the day we or someone we love needed Matthews House Hospice to begin supporting it, Matthews House would not exist.
The care, comfort, and dignity available to families today are the result of years of community generosity, volunteers, donors, sponsors, and people choosing to give before they need the service themselves.
That is why continued support throughout the entire year is essential.
An Enchanted Evening Gala will take place on Friday, Oct. 23, at the Waterloo Officers’ Mess at Base Borden.
Tickets for the Gala are $200 per person or $1,600 for a table of eight, and can be purchased online at matthews.house
