Mayor’s Business Address to discuss Town initiatives and priorities

May 26, 2022   ·   0 Comments

The annual Mayor’s Business Address will be taking place in person this year.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 8, at the Gibson Centre for Community, Arts, and Culture in Alliston.

This will be New Tecumseth Mayor Rick Milne’s final business address as he will not be seeking re-election in the upcoming municipal vote in October.

The Address is considered one of the top events in the New Tecumseth Business community as business leaders would like to hear new initiatives the Town is planning and what direction it will take when it comes to priorities to help improve business in the Town.

It also acts as an opportunity for business people to do some networking and meet other local business representatives.

The theme for this year’s event is “The Best is Yet to Come” and will feature an exclusive presentation of the Mayor’s address.

This will feature some of the key accomplishments of the last few years.

It will also highlight some new partnerships and current projects the Town is involved with.

After the Mayor’s address, keynote speaker John Kiru will deliver information about improving the local business situation.

Mr. Kiru has over 40 years’ experience in local business improvement and planning for municipalities.

He is the Executive Director of the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas representing Toronto’s 78 BIAs, with a total membership of 35,000 small business owners.

Mr. Kiru has used his experience to create Digital Main Street – a virtual retail tech incubator that helps build partnerships between start-ups and BIAs to pilot new technologies with main street businesses.

The Mayor’s Business Address will take place on Wednesday, June 8, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

The cost to attend is $25.00.
