Museum on the Boyne Presents Knights in the Classroom during March Break

If your child has a fascination with the Knights of the Round Table or swashbuckling pirates swinging from the mast of a sailing ship, the Museum on the Boyne will be presenting a historical demonstration during its Knights in the Classroom Day during March break.

From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., the museum will present Armoury Presentation Explore. This will show armour and artifacts from history.

Kids can learn how weapons and armour were developed during ancient times.

From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a presentation on pirates. You can learn all about the harsh realities that pirates really faced when sailing the seven seas.

An instructor will be dressed in accurate pirate clothing and there will be hands-on elements during the presentation.

No registration is required to attend and admission is by donation.

Knights in the Classroom will take place on Wednesday, March 12, at the museum.

The Museum on the Boyne also has two more events planned during March Break.

On Thursday, March 13, the museum will host Cipher Sleuths from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This will be a day of come-and-go activity with puzzling and mystery-solving fun.

The Shrewd Historian has left coded puzzles all over the gallery. Visitors are encouraged to solve the riddles and encoded messages.

You can make a binary code bracelet and secret decoder, as well as play artifact guessing games.

Admission is by donation with a suggested amount of $5 per child.

On Friday, March 14, the Great Steverino, will be performing from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Great Steverino’s magic show is highly interactive and provides a lot of laughs with a variety of illusions.

These include comedy chains and shackle escapes, magic vanishing balls, the unbelievable cut and restore newspaper, and impossible card tricks.

Registration is required to attend this show, and admission is $5 per person.
