The boys of summer will be back on local diamonds when the North Dufferin Baseball League starts the 2024 regular season.
The first game of the year will take place in the senior division with the Orillia Majors meeting the Creemore Padres on Saturday, May 4, in Creemore.
It’s going to be a good season with a lot of competitive baseball around the region.
There are 11 teams in the NDBL senior division this year.
These include the Creemore Padres, Midland Mariners, New Lowell Knights, Bolton Brewers, Lisle Astros, Orillia Majors, Mansfield Cubs, Barrie Angels, Ivy Rangers, Clarksburg Blues, and the Owen Sound Baysox.
The New Lowell Knights are the defending senior division champions having won back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023.
It’s going to be a 24-game regular season schedule with each team playing 12 home games and 12 on the road.
In the Junior division, there are seven teams in the line-up for this season.
This includes the Barrie Baycats, Orillia Royals, Mansfield Cubs, Creemore Padres, Orangeville Bengals, Innisfil Cardinals, and the Richmond Hill Phoenix.
Orillia are the defending champions having won the title in 2023.
The junior division has an 18 game regular season schedule with nine home games and nine road games for each team.
The 2024 junior season will get underway on Sunday, May 5, when the Mansfield Cubs host the Richmond Hill Phoenix at Mansfield Community Park.
