The Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County has appointed Ann-Marie Kungl as the new CEO of the organization, effective Oct. 17.
Ms. Kungl holds a Master of Public Health and designations as a Certified Health Executive and Alternative Dispute Resolution Professional. She has 20 years of experience in the health system that spans provincial, municipal, not-for-profit, and academic settings across a variety of sectors.
Her previous areas of focus have included strategic deployment, communications, issues management, media and stakeholder relations, organizational development, integration, health policy, Indigenous health and French Language Service planning, privacy and records management, accreditation, quality improvement, knowledge translation, and research design.
Ms. Kungle is a known dementia champion with a long tenure supporting efforts of the local Alzheimer Society.
She held the Behavioural Support Services portfolio at the North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integration Network and has been volunteering with the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County (ASSC) since 2013. Currently, Ms. Kungl is the Ward 3 Barrie City Councillor and is on a broad range of decision-making tables, including the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, the Senior’s Advisory Committee, County Council – Human Services and Affordable Housing, and the Women’s Advocacy Council of Simcoe County.
The ASSC said it is confident that Ms. Kungl will bring a dynamic, energetic, and determined perspective to the organization.
