The Town of New Tecumseth recognizes the remarkable contributions of older adults in our community through the annual Senior of the Year Award.
This prestigious award honours one outstanding resident aged 65 or older who has significantly enriched the social, cultural, or civic life of New Tecumseth. This can include notable contributions in areas such as arts, literature, community service, voluntarism, education, fitness and sport, recreation, or humanitarian work.
“Our seniors are the heart of our community,” said New Tecumseth Mayor Richard Norcross. “Their wisdom, generosity, and commitment have shaped New Tecumseth into the vibrant town we know today. The Senior of the Year Award is our way of saying thank you and celebrating those who continue to make a lasting impact.”
Applications for the Senior of the Year Award can be picked up at the New Tecumseth Administration Centre or completed online.
Submissions will be forwarded to New Tecumseth council. Council then selects the inductees for that year.
Awards presentations will be held at a future council meeting or at an event to be determined by council.
The deadline for nominations is 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026.
