The Town of New Tecumseth’s Parks, Recreation, and Culture team is now finalizing details for summer recreation programs.

Registration for aquatics and day camp programming at the Town had been delayed due to issues with the Rotary Pool in Alliston.

There is currently a shortage of lifeguards around the province after the pandemic forced the closure of lifeguarding courses. The lifeguard shortage is also being felt around the country.

The Town usually hires around 20 qualified lifeguards during the summer months – the required number to off full services at the pool.

Registration is now being offered. Summer programs and camps became viewable online on May 9.

Summer Programs and Camps became open for online registration on May 16.

Swimming lessons will not be provided this season. However, the Aqua-Adventure Camp will be open for children who qualify.

If additional swim-related activities become available, they will be communicated through registration software, the Town website, and social media accounts.
