If you know someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the Town of New Tecumseth and think they deserve recognition, you can nominate them for the Virtual Wall of Honour.
Inductees to the Virtual Wall of Honour will be celebrated at a council meeting or an event to be determined by New Tecumseth council.
To be eligible for nomination, candidates must be a resident of the Town of New Tecumseth or an individual who volunteers and has significantly contributed to the life of the town. Other eligibility requirements include making a positive impact on the lives of New Tecumseth’s citizens. Nominees can be submitted posthumously as long as the family of the deceased consent.
No activities or achievements related to political appointments are eligible, and neither are town staff members in connection with their employment position. Previous recipients of the award are not eligible. Individuals may not nominate themselves or family members.
Nominees should have a distinguished, well-rounded record of community service demonstrated through participation and leadership in and for various community organizations which have had a positive impact.
To nominate someone, you must use the prescribed Virtual Wall of Honour nomination form, which you can complete online, or you can pick up a copy at the Town administration centre.
A limited number of attachments providing evidence of the nominee’s accomplishments will be accepted. This includes things like newspaper articles, up to two letters of support, commentaries from peers, and supporting photographs.
The nomination should also include a biography of the nominee, including their contributions to the town, their volunteer contributions, and a professional quality, colour or black and white 8×10 photo.
Nominations will be accepted until Mar. 31
