New Town Council sworn in, take oath of office

The newly elected Town of New Tecumseth Council took the oath of office during a ceremony held at the Alliston Memorial Arena on Monday, Nov. 21.

The Council has a new mayor, a new deputy mayor, and six new councillors.

Starting the proceedings, the new council was led by the New Tecumseth Fire Honour Guard.

Former councillor Richard Norcross has assumed the seat of mayor for the town.

Stephanie MacLellan, a former councillor is now the deputy mayor.

Ward 3 councillor Paul Foster was re-elected for his second term, as was Ward 7 councillor, Shira Harrison McIntyre who will serve her third term on council.

New to Council this term, are Chris Rapin representing Ward 1, Wendy Gabrek for Ward 2, Alan Masters representing Ward 4, Marc Biss in Ward 5, Nicole Cox in Ward 6, and Andrea Jacks in Ward 8.

The new Town Council convened on Monday (Nov. 28) for their first council meeting.
