Nominations open for 2019 Business Excellence Awards

This is your chance to support your local business community!

The South Simcoe Business Excellence Awards, set to be presented May 6, recognize excellence, outstanding achievement, and customer satisfaction in small, medium and large businesses throughout South Simcoe.

Anyone can participate by nominating businesses in one of the seven categories listed below.

The deadline for nominations is March 15.

• Agricultural – presented to an agricultural enterprise in which the principals of running a successful farm or agricultural related operation are applied and have resulted in a flourishing and thriving business.

• Aspiring Entrepreneur – This category is not open for nominations. The award will be presented to the winner of the Nottawasaga Futures Youth Business Plan Competition. Open to young entrepreneurs up to the age of 29.

• Business Excellence – presented to a business that has contributed significantly to the economic development of the community through its growth and community involvement. Key focus is on long-term success, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

• Community Excellence – honours a business that stands out among those nominated for their outstanding leadership and community involvement. This business shows an active interest in the civic, cultural and social welfare of their community.

• Customer Service – presented to a business that stands out among those nominated for their outstanding dedication to customer satisfaction and innovation in customer retention.

• Entrepreneur – will honour an individual who is recognized for outstanding achievement in starting, taking over or substantially changing a profit-making business venture within three years. The award will be given to an individual who exhibits a high level of leadership, creativity and sense of community

• New Business – honours a business which has been in operation less than three years. The award will be presented to a new business venture that led to investment in the local economy

• Youth Entrepreneur- presented to a Youth between the ages of 15 and 29. Key criteria include innovation, successful start up and the generation of economic activity.

To nominate a business please call Robin Brown or email robin@nottawasaga.com with the name of the business and the award(s) category by March 15. Robin will contact the business directly and send out the application forms. Please note that the sources of nominations are confidential and not released to the businesses.
