Do you know a senior who has contributed service or had a significant impact in the Town of New Tecumseth?

Nominations are now open for the Senior of the Year Award.

The Town will honour a senior, who after age 65, has contributed through the arts, literature, community service, voluntarism, education, fitness and sport, or humanitarian activities, and has enriched the social, cultural, or civic life of the community.

Persons nominated must be at least 65 years of age.

You can nominate someone by completing the Senior of the Year nomination form online or by picking up a copy at the town administration centre.

Submissions can be entered either online or in person at the administration centre.

After you submit a nomination, the clerk’s office will forward the nomination to Town Council. Council will select the inductees.

Council will contact both the inductee and the submission’s author with the next steps for the awards celebration.

Awards are presented at a future council meeting or at an event to be determined by council.

The deadline for this year’s submissions is 4:30 p.m., on Friday, March 7.
