With only a handful of games left on the Senior schedule, the North Dufferin Baseball League is getting ready to go into playoff mode.
Most teams have five games left on the rest of the regular season schedule, with the final game scheduled for July 29.
The Bolton Brewers are in first place with 14 wins after 17 games this season. They have averaged almost nine runs per game this year and have 29 points.
Close behind in second place, the Ivy Rangers have had a good season with a 13-3-1 record this year. They have averaged almost eight runs per game since the start of the season.
The defending champion New Lowell Knights are in third place with a 13-3-1 record and 27 points, making the top three teams separated by just two points this season.
The Barrie Angels are in the number four spot with 22 points, followed by the Clearview Orioles with 21 points recorded.
In sixth place, the Creemore Padres have an 8-6-2 record.
From there, the rest of the teams in the line-up have negative records this season.
In seventh place, the Midland Mariners have a 6-9-1 record. They are followed by the Lisle Astros with a 6-10-1 record.
The Owen Sound Baysox will be challenging the Astros for the final playoff berth. They have a 4-11 record and nine points.
The bottom three teams have little or no chance of securing a spot in the playoffs this season.
The Orillia Majors, Clarksburg Blues, and the Mansfield Cubs have all won only two games this year and are unlikely to get enough wins to move up in the late going of the season.
Once the final standings are completed, the playoff schedule will be rolled out starting in the first week of August.
