Nottawasaga OPP lay charges in relation to historic sexual assault investigation

The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police Major Crime Unit has charged an individual in relation to a historical sexual assault.
An investigation began in August 2024, after a victim reported a sexual assault that occurred in 2010.
At the time of the incident, the accused and the victim were members of the same residential community in Beeton.
As a result of this investigation, John Wilkinson from New Tecumseth was charged with Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference.
Wilkinson has been arrested and released.
He is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on Sept. 26, 2024.
The charge against Wilkinson hasn’t been proven in court.
