Nottawasaga OPP lay numerous charges for drug trafficking and fraud

Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police with assistance from Nottawasaga Community Street Crime Unit have concluded a drug trafficking investigation that began the spring of 2026.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on July 10 in Alliston involving a vehicle that had been rented using a fraudulent driver’s license. Three people were arrested as a result of that traffic stop.

During the arrests, one person was found to be in possession of a prohibited weapon identified as a switchblade knife.

A fourth person connected to the investigation was subsequently arrested and charged.

As a result of the searches, officers seized 21 grams of cocaine, 2.8 grams of fentanyl, 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, 36 milligrams of hydromorphone (Dilaudid) in pills, drug trafficking paraphernalia, stolen mail, multiple fraudulent identification cards, stolen/fraudulent credit cards.

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old individual from Toronto has been charged with seven offences, including trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.

A 44-year-old individual from New Tecumseth has been charged with eight offences, including trafficking and probation violations

A 37-year-old individual from New Tecumseth has been charged with eight offences including trafficking.

A 28-year-old individual from Toronto has been charged with seven offences, including use of a forged document and probation violations.

The charges have not been proven.

One accused was held for a bail hearing while the remaining three accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford at a future date.
