A heavier-than-normal amount of rain in the region has caused local waterways to rise.

The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority (NVCA) has issued a warning about possible flooding.

Water levels are rising in the Nottawasaga River through to Wasaga Beach.

Low-level areas have the potential for flooding. The NVCA’s warning extends to all rivers and streams in the region.

There is a high risk of danger around fast-flowing water and anyone falling into a river or stream will be at high risk of injury.

The NVCA is warning people to stay clear of all rivers and streams in the area.

More rain is predicted this week, followed by a seven-day period where no precipitation is predicted.
