The Ontario government is providing five non-profit organizations in Simcoe-Grey with $413,200 in funding this year through the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Capital grant stream.

The funds will help improve community spaces, expand access to local programs and activities, and ensure residents can continue to benefit from the services and facilities that make Simcoe-Grey a great place to live.

The funding is being split between Beeton Lawn Bowling Club, E3 Community Services Inc., Rainbow Club of South Georgian Bay, CLASS and Camphill Communities Ontario/.

Brian Saunderson, MPP for Simcoe-Grey, made the announcement on Sept. 22.

“Strong communities depend on local organizations that bring people together, create opportunities and provide critical supports close to home,” said MPP Saunderson. “This important provincial investment will help five recipients across Simcoe-Grey improve their facilities and access the equipment they need to better serve our communities. I want to congratulate and thank their staff, volunteers and supporters for the meaningful work they do every day to make a difference in the lives of others.”

The Trillium Foundation Grants help organizations improve their infrastructure so they can continue delivering programs and services that Ontarians need to thrive.

This includes purchasing equipment, building a new space or completing renovations, and retrofits or repairs.

“Non-profit organizations across Ontario are delivering critical programming that helps people train for new careers, stay active, learn new skills and connect with their communities,” said Zee Hamid, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. “Our investment will help modernize and improve the spaces these organizations rely on so they can continue delivering the services that strengthen communities and drive local economic growth.”

The capital grant stream is part of the government’s plan to protect Ontario by investing in community infrastructure, supporting local organizations and creating the conditions for long-term economic growth and prosperity.
