OPP investigating arson at new house in Alliston

Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a reported structure fire on Lawrence D. Pridham Avenue in Alliston, shortly after 3:30 a.m. on March 11, in a new subdivision near the 14th Line.

The fire was determined to be arson. The structure was a newly constructed and unoccupied house.

New Tecumseth Fire Rescue crews attended the scene and successfully extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported.

The Nottawasaga OPP is actively investigating the incident and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects and the suspect vehicle.

Any drivers or residents in the area between 3 a.m. and 3:45 a.m. with knowledge, dash or security cameras are encouraged to contact the Nottawasaga OPP.

The suspect vehicle involved in the occurrence is described as a dark coloured Audi Hatchback that was seen in the area shortly after 3 a.m.

A suspect is described as male, wearing a dark sweater with a light-coloured stripe across the chest and arms.
