OPP investigating road rage incident with firearm

The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is currently investigating a road rage incident involving a firearm.

On Feb. 20, shortly after 3 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP and Barrie Police Service responded to a road rage incident involving a firearm.

The incident took place on County Road 90 in the Township of Essa just west of Barrie.

Police received a complaint of a white Infinity SUV driving erratically and at a high rate of speed. The occupants of the SUV are reported to have brandished a firearm at the victim.

Police are seeking the assistance of the public to help identify and locate three suspects. All suspects are described as wearing darker clothing, with tan complexions and between the ages of 18 – 25 years old.

The driver of the vehicle was wearing a dark coloured balaclava with sunglasses and the passenger appeared to have short brown hair.

The Nottawasaga OPP have located the subject vehicle and have identified it as stolen. The vehicle has been seized.

Three male suspects are still outstanding.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police.

Police released photos of one of the suspects.
