An Alliston resident and Ontario Provincial Police Sergeant with 28 years of service has been arrested and charged in connection to a child sexual exploitation investigation.
Chris Weise, 54, who is currently on an unrelated leave of absence, was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Sept. 8, with the following Criminal Code offences:
• Accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, Section 163.1 (4.1)
• Possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, Section 163.1(4)
The OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, with assistance from the OPP Nottawasaga Detachment and members of the OPP Digital Forensics Unit, made the arrest.
Police executed a search warrant at a residence in Alliston on Tuesday, June 16, and seized a number of electronic devices before laying charges.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026.
The charges have not been proven in court.
