Not everyone likes the cold weather, but good things do arrive with the frostier temperatures.
If you like outdoor skating, there are now two locations open for the public to enjoy.
In Alliston, a rink has been created at the Donor Diamond at Riverdale Park. Parking is available.
A rink is now also ready at the fairgrounds in Beeton. This location also has ample parking.
If you prefer an evening skate, the lights at both parks will be on from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. every night.
When visiting the outdoor rinks, there are some rules you should be aware of.
Public skating is free at outdoor rinks in New Tecumseth, and access will be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
A maximum of 50 skaters will be permitted on the ice at any given time. Outdoor rinks will be monitored to ensure participant numbers are not exceeded.
Hockey sticks and pucks are not permitted during public skate times.
Outdoor rinks may be closed without notice due to unsafe or poor weather conditions.
The Tottenham outdoor ice pad is also open.
The ice pad is located at the Tottenham Community Centre.
