The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police arrested an Angus man with multiple arrest warrants who failed to comply with release order charges.
Members of the Nottawasaga OPP Crime Reduction Unit with the the assistance of the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement team executed a warrant to enter a dwelling and arrested an individual in the area of Brentwood Rd. on July 3.
A 32-year-old male from Angus was charged with several offences.
These include seven counts of Failure to Comply with a release order, five counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon, and one count of Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Opioid.
During the investigation officers executed a search warrant on the dwelling the Angus man was found in and seized several items. They include brass knuckles, a taser, machete, nunchucks, body armour, and a variety of ammunition including .12 and .20 gauge shotgun rounds, .308, 30-06, .40 calibre, .22 calibre, and unknown long gun ammunition.
The Angus man was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
The Crime Reduction Unit is responsible for apprehending individuals who have outstanding warrants and those who pose a risk to the community.
The listed charges have not been proven in court.
