Police identify human remains discovered in Adjala-Tosorontio

The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has confirmed the identity of human remains discovered in the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio.
On Jan. 21, at approximately 8:40 p.m., police located a body in the area of 25th Sideroad.
A post-mortem was conducted on Jan. 25 in Toronto. The deceased has been identified as William Schernhammer, 24 years of age, from the Town of New Tecumseth, who was reported missing on Jan. 12.
The cause of death will not be released as the investigation remains ongoing.
The Nottawasaga OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services and Central Region Support Team, and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
