It has become a popular local tradition to attend the pancake breakfast at St. John’s United Church in Alliston during the Alliston Potato Festival.
Breakfast is returning to this year’s event. There is usually a line-up, so if you want to avoid a wait, come early.
Since the church is right downtown, many people start their day with breakfast, then walk down the street to check out the downtown vendors.
The church has always tried to keep breakfast affordable so that whole families can enjoy the all-you-can-eat potato pancakes.
Part of the proceeds from the event support various local charities, including the hospital and the food bank.
This is a community event, made possible by many volunteers, including youth from the South Simcoe 4-H Club and Banting Memorial High School.
The 51st St. John’s United Church pancake breakfast will take place on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the church on Victoria Street in downtown Alliston.
