President and CEO of Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH), Jody Levac, is retiring from the position effective May 31, 2024.

Levac is recognized for his leadership. This includes leading the hospital through the COVID-19 pandemic and the progression of the SMH redevelopment plan.

Under his tenure, the hospital achieved an Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank Jody for his passion for health care, leadership, and contributions to the communities that SMH serves,” said Norm Depta, Chair of SMH’s Board of Directors. “The Board is grateful for Jody’s leadership over these past 10 years and wishes him all the best in his retirement.”

Levac became president and CEO in January 2014.

“It has been an absolute privilege to have served as President and CEO at SMH for over 10 years,” Levac said. “I am appreciative of the hard work and guidance of the Board of Directors. I am equally grateful to the dedicated staff, physicians and volunteers. As we witness Early Works construction unfolding, I am confident the community will get a state-of-the-art medical facility. The future is bright for SMH.”

The SMH Board of Directors is actively working to evaluate and plan the next steps for the leadership of the hospital.

Further updates will be provided when available.
