When she started working toward a career, Roll Her Up Bakehouse entrepreneur Cailyn Stewart was studying for something entirely different from what she does now.

Cailyn operates Roll Her Up Bakehouse and makes delicious gourmet cinnamon rolls in a variety of flavours, and she’s always inventing new varieties with different flavours and twists.

Cailyn didn’t start out as a baker. She graduated from Georgian College with a degree in game development.

“I was looking for a game job, but at the same time I started making rolls and people wanted to buy them,” Cailyn explained. “I would give samples to people in town – I live in Alliston. I started making more, and I went to a market. My first market was in December. It was a Christmas market and we did very well.”

After a strong response from her first market, Cailyn realized she had a real opportunity for a successful business, given how much people enjoyed her baking.

Her cinnamon rolls are light and tasty, and her creative skills help her explore ways to make new varieties.

“Our menu consists of apple crisp, classic, blueberry lemon zest, and every once in a while we bring back a pistachio cinnamon roll and strawberry,” said Cailyn. “We also have a contest online where our customers are voting for new flavours. Some of the flavours we have seen in the in-box are strawberry shortcake, peach cobbler, Ferrero Rocher chocolate, double chocolate, and raspberry chocolate, so you can look forward to some new and fun flavours from us in the next few weeks.”

Cailyn’s creative background also provided a way to do her marketing and advertising. Her vendor tent is a wild pink colour that is tasteful, but certainly attracts attention.

Her pink brand and bubbly personality has resulted in her customers giving her the name Cinnamon Barbie, and she think it suits her well.

She brought her cinnamon rolls to the Tottenham Vendors’ Market at Keogh Park on Sunday, July 12, and had a great response from visitors who enjoyed her tasty treats.

Cailyn will be back at the Tottenham Market two more times this summer on July 26 and August 23.
