The playground at Rotary Adventure Park next to Riverdale Park in Alliston is getting closer to having new equipment installed.
Equipment at the park was removed because it was decommissioned in accordance with Town safety inspections and third-party inspections, according to a Town of New Tecumseth notice on site.
Both Tottenham and Beeton are in the process of having playgrounds replaced because they had reached their useful life expectancy. Those parks, at the Beeton Fairground and on Easter Avenue in Tottenham, had the old equipment removed in April.
The old equipment at Alliston’s Rotary Park was removed in 2019.
Town Council is expected to discuss the new equipment and award the tender for the installation of the new equipment.
Crews are expected to start working on the playground site in June and will be getting it ready to receive installation of the new equipment.
The new equipment is expected to be installed some time in August.
The Town will be receiving $970,000 in federal and provincial funding for the project while the Town itself will be contributing $352,000.
In addition to the new playground equipment, the funds will also go towards upgrades at the splash pad across the street in Riverdale Park.
