The Rotary Club of New Tecumseth held a special meeting on Monday, April 27, to induct four new members into the group.

The local Rotary chapter recently changed its name from Rotary Club of Alliston to Rotary Club of New Tecumseth to fully include all three communities in the town.

District 7070 Governor Niecy Dillon-Tyrovolas attended the meeting and welcomed the new members.

New members in the Rotary Club of New Tecumseth include Robyn Zillmer-Caruana, Jeff Ercul, Nicole Sy, and Amze King.

Rotary is an international organization with over 1.2 million members that has strategic goals both globally and in its own communities.

At the local level, the Rotary Club organizes events such as parades and the 12th Night Bonfire in January each year at Riverdale Park in Alliston.

Often, local residents assume the town is organizing events when it is actually the Rotary Club behind many local happenings. The Rotary Club wants to let people know that Rotary is the driving force behind many of these events.

The Rotary Club of New Tecumseth is welcoming its new member and looks forward to their participation in the coming years.
