S.H.I.F.T homeless shelter in Alliston to hold inaugural gala next month

Support and Hope for Individuals and Families Today (S.H.I.F.T) is holding a gala at Tangle Creek Golf Club on Nov. 8.

The Raising Hope Gala will support S.H.I.F.T’s operations in Alliston, which includes providing shelter services, food, and support to individuals in need throughout South Simcoe.

The emergency overnight shelter also offers daytime drop-in and outreach programming, which supports youth, adults and families facing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.

“Attendees can expect a fabulous evening filled with delicious dining of a three-course meal, photo booth, DJ, door prize and exciting auction items that will leave you buzzing with anticipation,” said S.H.I.F.T in a press release on Oct. 22.

S.H.I.F.T is encouraging the public to attend for several reasons, which include the three-course meal, bottles of wine at each table, a DJ that will provide top-notch entertainment, silent and live auctions featuring incredible items and experiences and door prize giveaways.

“Join us to ensure that hope continues to thrive in our community,” said S.H.I.F.T’s press release. “Together, we can make a significant impact.”

Ticket sales close on Oct. 30, so organizers are encouraging those interested in attending the event to grab them now at www.shiftforgood.ca/gala.  

Individual tickets are $120, and table packages are $840 for 8 seats.

The dress code for the event is semi-formal.

“Bring your own kind of sparkle!” said S.H.I.F.T.

Tangle Creek Golf Club, where the gala is being held, is located at 4730 Side Road 25, Thornton, Ont.

The doors open at 5 p.m. on Nov. 8, and the dinner starts at 7 p.m.
