Saddle up for the Mayor’s Charity Rodeo

August 25, 2022   ·   0 Comments

Get your cowboy boots polished and your fanciest cowboy hat from the closet and get ready to find your seat at the 2022 New Tecumseth Mayor’s Charity Rodeo coming in up Alliston in September.

The Rodeo features two days of exciting rodeo events showcased by some of the best riders in the country.

Expect to see some cowgirls’ barrel racing, pole bending, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, and the wildly popular bull riding event.

Alliston Memorial Arena gets a full make-over prior to the event with a lot of soil brought in to cover the floor and simulate an outdoor ring.

The cowboys and cowgirls will compete in different, fast paced events around the area. The action is fast and furious with some events only lasting seconds as competitors try to beat the clock and get a better time over the other riders and ropers. First place is determined by a split second in some events.

There are also special guests who will perform on horseback and show some amazing riding tricks.

Proceeds from The Mayor’s Rodeo support the Mayor’s Student Bursary Program, which provides financial assistance to New Tecumseth youth as they pursue post-secondary educational opportunities that may not otherwise be financially feasible.

The Mayor’s Rodeo will take place on Saturday, September 10, and Sunday, September 11.
