The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has made an arrest in New Tecumseth in relation to a drug trafficking investigation.
On March 1, members of the Nottawasaga OPP Community Street Crime Unit, along with the Collingwood Street Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence on Victoria Street in Alliston.
As a result of the investigation, officers seized approximately 33 grams of cocaine, ten oxycodone pills, $4,850.00 in Canadian currency, three cell phones, and items used for packaging.
In addition, officers recovered a prohibited weapon (switchblade), and 12 assorted weapons.
Isaiah Hrynkiw, 39, of New Tecumseth, was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – cocaine, Trafficking Schedule 1 substance – cocaine, Trafficking Schedule 1 substance – Other Drugs, Unauthorized Possession of Weapon, and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on April 11, 2024.
None of the listed charges have been proven in court.
