Search warrants in Alliston, Angus lead to 24 charges

The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has arrested two individuals on multiple drug and weapon-related charges following the execution of three warrants in Alliston and Angus.

The Nottawasaga Community Street Crime Unit began a drug trafficking investigation in Alliston and Angus in February 2024. As a result of that investigation, officers obtained three search warrants.

The warrants were executed at two residences and one storage facility by the OPP Nottawasaga CSCU, Caledon CSCU, Dufferin CSCU, and the Tactics and Rescue Unit, on Thursday, Aug. 15.

During the search, offices seized several items.

They include one Express 70 12-gauge modified shotgun, one ounce of cocaine, 14 grams of methamphetamine, 1.7 grams of fentanyl, 42 clonazepam tablets, drug trafficking indicia, and a stolen Ford F-150 truck valued at approximately $10,000. 

Police arrested and charged two people.

Sherri Crawford, 52, of Essa, was charged with unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition, Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Possession Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Other Drugs, Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Drug, Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Failure to Comply with a Release Order – Other Than to Attend Court – two counts.

Michael McCormack, 31, of Lisle, was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm, Careless Storage of a Firearm or Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition, Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, Possession of Schedule Substance I Substance – Cocaine, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Other Drugs, Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs.

Both accused were held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice. 

None of the listed charges have been proven in court.
