Senior of the Year and Wall of Honour nominations now open

Nominations for the Town of New Tecumseth’s Senior of the Year Award and the Wall of Honour are now open for submissions.

Senior of the Year

The Senior of the Year award recognizes a citizen over 65 who has enriched their community’s social, cultural, or civic life.

Seniors who qualify for this award may have contributed to town life in many different areas.

These include the arts, literature, community service, voluntarism, education, fitness, and sports or humanitarian activities.

If you know a senior you think should be nominated for their efforts or achievements, you can include a written description of the individual, including the highlights of the contributions. This should include details of what they have accomplished and contributed to through various activities.

Nomination forms are available by contacting the Town Administration Centre in Alliston at 705-435-3900 or 905-729-0057.

Nomination forms will be received until 4:30 p.m., on Friday, March 3, 2023.

Recipients of the award will be honoured by the Town of New Tecumseth at an event or meeting to be determined by council and will be submitted to the province for recognition.

Virtual Wall of Honour

The Town of New Tecumseth Virtual Wall of Honour recognizes individuals for outstanding contributions to the town.

Individuals who qualify for this award must be residents of the Town of New Tecumseth.

Nominees should be individuals deemed to be of great importance to their community, have made significant contributions to their town through volunteer service or may have had a positive impact on the lives of the citizens of New Tecumseth, making the community a better place to live.

Nomination forms are available by contacting the Administration Centre in Alliston at 705-435-4900

Recipients of this award will be honoured by the town at an event or meeting to be determined by council.

Nominations will be considered if received prior to March 31, 2023. Nominations submitted after March 31, will be considered the following year.
