Senior of the Year Award accepting nominations

The Senior of the Year Award is presented annually to a New Tecumseth resident, aged 65 or over, who has contributed service of significant impact to the town in one of several categories.

Categories include the arts, literature, community service, voluntarism, education, fitness and sport, and humanitarian activities.

Nominations for this award are now being accepted.

You can complete the Senior of the Year nomination form online, or pick up a copy a the Town Administration Centre.

The Clerk’s office will forward nominations to Council. Council will then select the inductees for that year.

Council will contact both the inductee and the person who nominated them to inform them of the awards celebration for that year.

Awards are presented at a future Council Meeting or an event to be determined by Council.

The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, March 8, 2024, at 4:30 p.m.

The nomination form will request the personal information of both the nominee and the person or organization that is nominating them.

It also requests a biography of the person being nominated with their contributions to the various categories listed.

The Senior of the Year Award was established in 2007.

Since that time, 20 local residents have been honoured with the award.
